Anyone who has taught school for any length of time (one day subbing qualifies) knows how difficult it can be to spark interest in students towards your subject.  Most teachers have a bag of tricks -- I call them Aha's -- which are classroom tried and proven. These are the little angles and insights into a topic that catch kids off-guard, surprise them, even delight them.
That's what this column is all about.  But I can't do it alone.  My 23 years of Aha! developing is pretty much limited to the domain in which I teach: language arts.  Thus, the Aha's you find here will, originally at least, be mainly in the area of teaching English classes.  You'll only see two of them so far, Mr. _ Incognito and The Teacher is Wrong, but this will grow.  (It isn't easy getting out the first issue of an entire magazine by yourself.)
If you're not an English teacher, please check them out anyway.  You will get a good idea of the content and style this feature is looking for.  Then you will do the decent thing and click the Submissions link.  We really need your contributions  of neat little entry points into your subject area.
